P. QASIMAH BOSTON is a strategic approach designer and artist whose global platform has served many.  From a dream to a social enterprise, Qasimah’s determination has served diverse people and helped others to implement strategic approaches that help to improve quality of life for global communities

As a result of her work, communities address food security and environmental challenges, hospitals report perspectives of community members; health departments allocate dollars to participatory research that includes the perspectives of those who need services and state government provide funding to needs to be expressed by the community.

Dr. Boston teaches public health courses and research methods, she is Chief Executive Officer of Golden Rod Consulting, co-founder of the Board of Directors of the Tallahassee Food Network, Inc., co-director of the Tallahassee Youth For Change Project, and advisory board member of the Moving Forward Network.

She is author and co-author of published articles like; Obesity literacy and culture among African American women in Florida, Diversity-Grown: Participatory evaluation of a community gardening initiative through PhotoVoice, Genetic loci and novel discrimination measures associated with blood pressure variation in African Americans living in Tallahassee, and Food store owners’ and managers’ perspectives on the food environment: An exploratory mixed-methods study.

Dr. Boston’s social science research endeavors involve teams that examine; health disparities, social determinants of health, food security, healthy aging, obesity and childhood obesity, and community engagement. Dr. Boston is a collaborator.  She partners with others in health planning and evaluation initiatives to support disease prevention and health promotion.
